The Rescue is a KICD approved levelled reader. This book is approved for CBC. It is the modern storybook. It is written to cater for learners with different reading abilities, regardless of their Grade. At this level, learners can almost read independently. They are able to process ideas in a text and they can read more complex stories. Illustrations may not be needed to understand the text. The Rescue is a story about two friends, Baraka and Tom. Tom does not have a father. He lives with his mother who sells beer. His mother does not treat him well and this affects his studies. Baraka decides to help his friend. Tom is finally rescued and goes to live with his grandmother. This story will teach learners to always share their problems with their friends, parents, guardians and teachers. This book is CBC approved by KICD.
